The US dollar is the currency of the British Virgin Islands. Traveler’s Checks and most major credit cards are widely accepted although a few some small businesses are on a cash basis. The most readily accepted cards are Visa and MasterCard but check with your card company as many charge a foreign transaction fee even though US dollars are the currency in the BVI’s.
Republic Bank, located next to SupraValu is the only bank on Virgin Gorda and its hours of operation and services are extremely limited. The ATM situation is limited also.
