The Restaurant at Leverick Bay

Probably the best restaurant on the island. We have had several meals there over the past year alone and with friends and they have all been excellent, both service and food.  The wine list is extensive. Well worth the drive from Mahoe Bay.

Island Pot – The Valley  Has been open on the weekends since opening after Irma

Four of us enjoyed a delicious meal barbecued ribs and chicken with wonderful potato salad and Cole slaw. If you want a tasty inexpensive meal served by a delightful staff, this is the place. No frills just good food. Oh yes, BYOB, soda, juices and water are available.

The Sugarcane Restaurant – Nail Bay    Has not reopened since Irma

If you are looking for a spot for a romantic dinner with a great view and excellent food, this is it. We had not been back here for dinner in a few years and went back on a recommendation of a friend. The food, the service and the ambiance were excellent. First, we shared the fishcake appetizer…perfect, then I had the jerk pork entrée, my wife had the vegetable stir-fry and both excellent, and again we shared the chocolate mousse for desert. The wine list though small, is well thought out, we choose a very nice Chablis. We will be back again.

Mad Dog – The Baths   Finalizing construction should open in March

Hog Haven – The Road to Leverick Bay

Took two groups of friends up there on separate occasions the last year for the view at sunset and dinner. The place was crowded both times and is turning into one of the Hot Spots at sunset.  They recently added an indoor dining area and expanded the outside deck considerably. The staff as always was accommodating and friendly. On both occasions we grabbed drinks at the bar and went to enjoy the view and setting sun before we sat down for dinner. The food was quite good and the portions large. All and all everyone enjoyed themselves.

CocoMaya – Spanishtown

The setting can’t be beat and this year the food and service is wonderful. Had a great meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a dear friend. This was the best meal here yet. We had a wide variety of the tapas on the menu and everyone was the favorite until the next one arrived. The Chocolate Trio for desert was perfect. Be back again!  Next to the Mermaid.

Mermaid’s Dockside Bar & Grill – Spanishtown   Has not reopened since Irma

We love coming here to wait for the ferries coming into Spanishtown for a cold drink and appetizers while waiting for friends to arrive on the ferry. The open-air bar sits out on the water and is usually filled with locals and tourist. It is also the place to be during the local fishing contests when the boats come in with their catch. The atmosphere and enthusiasm is exciting and you are very quickly caught up in it and cheering. Soon you will be dancing with everyone else. It’s easy to find, just past the Yacht Harbor on the road to the Baths and turn right at the old well and follow it to the water.

Bath & Turtle Restaurant/Rendezvous Bar – Spanishtown

Has now moved across the next to Chez Bamboo.  New location, same good times.  Watching the Super Bowl at the Rendezvous Bar to the sounds of Leon and the Hotshots is an experience. The bar was packed with locals, ex-pats, boat people and tourists. Everyone had a great time. Food and drink flowed and the staff was hopping, including Rose, all night to meet the demand for pizzas and drink. Definitely the place to be if you are in VG during Super Bowl. But, it is also great fun every Sunday evening listening and dancing to Leon and the Hotshots late in the afternoon.

Fat Virgin’s Cafe   Has not reopened since Irma

Nice little café only accessible by boat. You can get a ferry to this restaurant from most resorts; just ask at your reception. The chicken and the beef roti’s are highly acclaimed. Prices were very reasonable and the service was friendly. A great place for a casual bite to eat after cruising around North Sound

Chez Bamboo – Spanishtown

Just a short walk from Yacht Harbor. The restaurant is in a tranquil garden setting. The food is very good to excellent. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant was very inviting. The service is impeccable and the tables are beautifully set. The owner, Rose, makes you feel at home and goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy the meal.

The TreeHouse at the Rock – Spanishtown   Has not reopened since Irma

It is the place on the island for a romantic dinner for two out on the balcony in a unique and beautiful setting. Yes, it is a real treehouse!  The food and service are excellent.
